Ilsenburg - host of the Last DSS Meeting

After three years of collaboration Deep Sea Sampling came to an end in May 2024. Results gained and progress being made were summarized during the Finalization Meeting in Ilsenburg, organized by Krebs & Aulich GmbH.

Sixteen partners from partnering instituions met in Ilsenburg on July 1st and 2nd, 2024; two joined virtually. Beside discussing the individual results within the project also next steps for Deep Sea Sampling 2 were discussed, and how to progress with ongoing tasks during the summer months. Presentations gave a wide view into the single fields of Bauer Maschinen GmbH, LMT Rostock, FAU Erlangen, TU Bergakademie Freiberg and Krebs & Aulich GmbH. After lunch, the site of Krebs & Aulich was vivited and the running test stand with the developed 150 kW electric trench cutter engines were visited.
