Feel warmly invited to Hall B0 - VDMA Science and Startup Hub

qPos - a concept prototype of a developed inertial measurement unit will be shown at the VDMA Science and VDMA Startup Hub in Baumas Hall B0. As part of the development packages done at TUBAF, initial testing was already done in mineshafts to test and further improve algorithms and precision of position measurement.

Knowing where you are - especially unter the tough environment a trench cutter head is working - was one of the questions where DSS 1 was looking for answers. During DSS1 initial demonstrators were developed and tested initialy in water in laboratory conditions and in mineshafts - to prove the concept right and to improve algorithms to handle measurement data.

Utilizing Kalman filter, sensor data fusion, and elaborate sensor alignment to provide an as acurate-as-possible set of data qPos aims to navigate in enviroments were no connection to any Global Positioning System is possible - underground or underwater.
